EFT Couples Therapist in Newtown, PA

DR. LAURA LYNCH, PHD, LMFT

Evidence-based therapy to take your relationship from surviving to thriving.

It wasn’t always this hard.

But your lives have steadily gotten busier and your relationship has taken a backseat to everything else you are juggling. It feels like you have fallen out of sync with each other and the conflicts and resentments have piled up.

You’ve tried get back on the same page but nothing seems to work for long. You don’t want to let things get any worse and you believe that couples therapy is the next step. But you don’t want to waste any time— you want a therapeutic approach that has been shown to work.

Here’s how I can help.

In my work I use the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) model, an approach that is compassionate and non-judgmental and that research has shown to be very effective with couples issues.

In Couples Therapy:  I’ll work with you and your partner to unpack your patterns of conflict and create a safe space to fully express yourselves. We’ll identify where the relationship is getting stuck and work to help you feel connected and supported by each other again.  At the heart of my approach is a commitment to treating you and your relationship with respect, compassion, and understanding.

Looking for individual therapy?

Though EFT was originally developed for use in couples therapy, it has since been expanded for use with individuals via the Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) framework. I also offer individual therapy at my practice for those who are looking to focus on individual goals.

In Individual Therapy: I'll help you explore your personal goals and challenges and identify any unhelpful patterns that keep getting you stuck.  We’ll work to heighten your self-understanding and self-compassion and help you feel more confident in navigating emotional and relational challenges.  This will enable you to enjoy a healthier relationship with yourself and with others.
